Hey you guys. I've heard you don't have the daytime driving light in the states, but that Canada has them and probarbly some other countryes. Hoping someone has a good idea what can be wrong.

My problem:
On my way home from a little holyday this weekend I noticed my driving lights had stopped working. It is the same as the main lights, but they turn on automaticly when I start the truck. If I turn on the switch they work, so it's not the lights themselves. The first thing I did was to check all the fuses. All of them where working fine, so my next guess was that a relay had gone bad, but since it's so stupidly explained in the manual I'm not sure whitch one is for the driving lights. Tried to ask at ford, and the US-specialist there said it was a resistanse mounted on the backside of the frontbumper. Well,I bought a new resistance, and mounted it, but no difference, so I put the old one back in and went back to ford. Now the US-guy dont have any more ideas, but wanted me to come back in a couple of weeks, then maybe he would have time to look at it(and charge me "zillions" of $$ I guess).

Well anyway. I was hoping someone might know what relay controls the driving lights. I think maybe there is something wrong in the translation of the norwegian manual. On the scetch the fuses and relays are marked with numbers, and in the explanation it's marked with letters, and obviosly not in the same order..
Is there any other things that could be broken. I had not done any offroading or anything, they just stopped working someway along the highway.
Any ideas would be greately appreciated..

Thanks in advance!

The DRLs are activated by the release of the parking brake, so i believe there's a switch located somewhere along that line. I will check it out with my Chiltons and let you know.

yes! that's a good idea! I'll try looking around there myself...

DAMN!! maybe that's why they didn't work when I swithed the resistanse-thing yesterday, because I had the parkingbrake on...
Oh-wel... maybe it's just a switch that's hanging, otherwise I'll have to go back to ford an smile very wide.. they were nice enough to give me my money back since the thing didn't work...

Don't forget to check the fuse, in most cases it's always the fuse. The fuse is rated at 15A, and is used for the "fog lights" and for the "running lights". The fuse is located in the fuse box under the hood on the driver’s side, it will be blue, if that's any consolation to making it easier to find! Well.. good luck!

Oops, sorry I got a head of myself there!! Sorry.. didn't mean to insult your intelligence, I didn't read threw your entire post, so I thought you hadn't checked your fuses!

So.. please disregard the last post! :-p

Problem solved!

Okay! Thanks for the help!
It was the resistance-thing. When I tried to change it the first time I drove my left frontweel up ontop of a 40cm edge, to get a bit more space under there when I was working. To be sure it didn't slide or roll down on me while I was underneath, I pushed the parkingbrake as far in as possible... Well, anyway. I went back to Ford and got the resistance back again, put it on, remembered NOT to have the parkingbrake on, and there my drivinglights came back...

You saved me some $ there guys! Thankyou!
