Ok, I searched a bunch of threads about disabling DRL's, but no one has posted a follow-up to what they did or if it worked.

When I got my X I noticed that the high-beams didnt work. So I was checking all the fuses tonight and a fuse was pulled from the inside panel, #33, designated as DRL in owners manual. So I put a fuse back in it and have highs again, but dont want the DRL's.

Where are the other threads?

I did a random search for DLR, and other variations. Most threads just wanted to know how to fix DRLs that werent working, I want to disable mine without having to sacrifice the high beams.

I disabled mine by putting a switch on the power wire to the DRL box itself. You need a wiring diagram.

Why don't you just go to a junkyard and get the protective cap that fits over the end of the connector. Every X has one that does not have DRL. The guy at the salvage yard gave it to me for free.

Does the cap have a jumper in it or something as not to loose the high beams? one of the other threads siad you had to jumper some wires if you just disconnect the DRL module.

Hey Crank, which wire is the power wire. I have switches where I could rig that up?

Thankx

It has connectors inside the plug which allows your headlights to function normally. Just put it on the control module wiring harness located on the drivers side and your done. No need for jumper wires, and takes about 15 seconds to do.

Awesome, thanks Rick.

You would need a wiring diagram.

Try finding that DRL jumper though I suppose.

With a switch , you can turn the Drls on and off :D

Thankx for the info members. I think I may be ok, I noticed that even though I put the fuse back in, the drl's dont come on. So maybe I am lucky and it doesnt have them or it burned out.
