from engine or running gear?
got that on mine and is suspected front diff ,but only at very low speeds with vibration

on running gear,no vibration just a noise. When it is coasting its silent but touch the accelaration and its there :(

mmm

 m8

i have a similar sort of noise-i just put it down to wheel bearing not sure about when coasting though, as i sort of dont listen for to many noises lol,i also have chunky general grabbers and 2 inch spacers so could be that making my noises

Is the dronong rev specfic

Is the droning there at all revs? I have a droning noise (vibration under the floor) at 2400 rpm up to about 2700rpm. More noticeable passing through these revs but still there if held steady. Not gear specific and not certain whether it's transmission, engine or whatever. Otherwise performs well, no other engine or transmission noise. It's a noise that has not changed or got worse in the last 18 months but irritating nonetheless

no change with the revs just goes quiet when you lift off the gas, when you acc very little or hard accelerate the noise returns.if you coast the noise is not there:(

subscribing.... i have the same noise on a 98 sport.
whoops..uk forum! still hope to find out the problem.

Sounds like a drive bearing noise, I would say layshaft bearings if it was a manual, So you need to check the drive shaft bearings fore and aft- the drive pressure is making the noise on the bearings- thats my feeling on this one mate!

You could test the front transfer case bearing by temporarily removing the front drive shaft and see if the noise goes away. In theory you can do the rear but removing the prop shaft and put it in 4x4 high. (never tried it though)
