Has anyone had a dual or catback dual exhaust added to their 06 Explorer? If so, what price range did you go into. Also, were your tailpipes ran on both sides? Any ideas, opinions answers greatly appreciated.

I don't want LOUD but a nice deep tone would be nice and the balanced look of dual pipes would be nice too!

Guess it will be very tricky to build a 2 x 1 exhaust if you take a lokk around the sparetire section. 1x 2 exh. shouldn´t be a big deal. I´m still searching for a muffler, don´t know how an Edelbrock will sound, but guess it could be a good choice, esp. in stainless steel.

Speaking of exhaust, has anyone noticed the size of the cat on the v-8? It is huge.

indeed

I went to get duals installed and the guy at the shop told me their was not enough room to run dual exhaust. He is a friend of mine and did the headers and exhaust on my stang. He said he can do the fake dual...one pipe that spilts into two seperate mufflers. Anyone else heard of this??

Having seen the undercarriage it would be very difficult to run a classic dual exhaust. the fuel tank would need to be relocated or changed to a fuel cell, also, the full size spare might need to be eliminated. A love ford, but... they are notorious in the industry as equipping exhaust systems that are quiet, but very restrictive. there is no better sound than an uncorked stang running a Borla system. I will be looking to improve my system soon and will post if I come up with anything good.
