I know several people have the Duff mount, has anyone used the Skyjacker one? I've found it several places from $45-$55, making it ALOT cheaper than the Duff one. I was thinking about using duals in the front so I could ditch the sway bar. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this one (P/N is Skyjacker DS220). I know you get what you pay for, and I don't want something I'm going to bend up....thanks!

When and if you do the dual shocks in front post a picture or two and let me know how they are because I was going to do that to my truck but had problems which I'm still working on (engine)

where did you find this dual shock mount?

Summit has it, Skyjacker part # DS220. I've found it several other places also, Rocky Mountain Suspension...do a Yahoo search for Skyjacker DS220 a bunch of things will come up. It's only listed for Ranger/Bronco II at Summit, but also for 91-94 Ex on all the other places I found it.

thank you, i cant find a pic of it though, however i went to skyjacker.com and found the directions on how to install it and it looks kinda cheesy, the james duff one definitely looks to be built alot better as far as i can tell

This is the only pic I have seen of it..

i looked at those before, what are the advantages of dual shocks in the front?

well that pic looks alot better then the directions show..

I have single Pro-comp ES9000's in the front and deleted my sway bar years ago. Only difference is I am running the superlift 5.5 springs which are stiffer as well. I took off both sway bars about 3 years ago. I guess there is a little bit of the cool factor with the duals though.

how much more articulation do you get by taking off your sway bars? How much does it affect highway driving w/o them?

My driving habbits did not change that much. The only time I realy notice a difference is going around sharp corners slow. As far as articulation goes, I would say it is OK for a 5.5 inch lift. The Superlift springs have a heavy spring rate(450 or 500lb I think) as compaired to others so they probably help out on the road. I don't think your sway bars will affect highway driving unless there are lots of corners or you end up with the death wabble. If I go with a softer spring like a XJ spring, then I might have issues. I think their spring rate is around 250 to 300. My rear shocks are also realy stiff. I don't know what brand they are because they came with the lift, but they have been on for over 3 years and they are still stiff as hell still. When you drive down the road with the windows up, you can here the rears cycle. They make that hissing sound when they travel. My rear springs are also superlift and they flex pretty good.

thanks, ive heard alot about the death wobble, not sure what it is, but i know i dont want anything with "death' in it. i have 4 inches of SL but its not a kit, just 2" lift springs, with 2" spacers, and an AAL w/ shackles. so i dont think i could get away with removing my sway bars, my front end does not articulate worth a ****.

The death wabble is when you are going down the road at speed and your truck decides to shake its ass until you let off the gas. Its a scary site. Never happened to me though. I did see it happen right in front of me to another X.

Those will be on my truck by next spring if everything goes right

Screw the duals, I want a pair of Fox 2.5s. :D With those I dont think you even need springs.

That would be nice...so, yes, I was looking at them as a cheap way to eliminate my front sway bar, I was planning on using Skyjacker springs, which I understand are rather soft. For the shocks I was thinking about Rancho RS5000...
