Ok, I have a 1992 Eddie Ex, I really really want to get dual side exit exhaust, but a couple problems.
1) I do'nt know wut to do about the left side exit, because there is a spare tire and gas tank there

2)on the right side, the muffler is like right next to the back right wheel and it would be hard to run it there

3)Too much bending of the pipe to run out the left side would lose a lot of power.

4) Is there anyway that I could maybe move the muffler back on the line of exhaust so it wouldn't be so close to back wheel? and maybe I could get the pipe to miss the gas tank?

Should I try getti8ng a shop to do dual side exits, or should I just go with dual exits behind the wheels at a diagonal? To let you guys know, I am going to get either the Flowmaster 40 or 50 (which one do you guyz like better??) thanks for the reply:redexp:

Not much can be done about moving the muffler - it's pretty close to the cats as it is. You want to have side exit on both sides just under the rear doors? It's possible but you would probably have to replace the muffler with a different one - shorter and with one in and two outs - two outlet pipes... all you need then are a couple of pipes.... also, on that note you'll have to worry about the rear drive shaft.

One option

This is how I got mine running. It is like you were saying, diagonal behind both wheels.

thats a nice lookin truck spride i like your exhaust set-up i wanted 2 straight out the back but the exhaust shop talked me out of it said id be takin power away. Like you my spare is not underneath my truck as it became useless when i got bigger tires not to mention it got me stuck trying to back down a hill one day 92eddie i have the flow 40 i love the sound cant hear it inside very well but sounds good outside but i only have one pipe in the stock location I want duals too just looks killer :smoke:

In case you want exits in front of the wheels, let me tell you why you don't:

It's illegal on an SUV,
unsafe,
and could discolor your wheels.

just my 2 cents.

why is it illegal carbon monoxide can come in would be my guess?? my ole 66 ford truck has duals out right after the doors and sometimes i smell exhaust and yeah i agree with the screwin up your wheels theory i clean black **** off of my wheels alot and those aint no disc brakes! Good point alec

Hey guyz, thanks a ton for the replies. I just posted yesterday so I havn't done anything yet, even though I really wanted the side exits, I think i'm going to go diagonal out the back behind the wheels. Did u all go with 2.25" piping, cause that is what I'm thinking, with the flowmaster 40. And wut kind of tips should I get??

my buddie has resonators on his and it sound really nice throaty to say the least mine has a 3 inch tip thats kinda curled in at the end i hate it makes it rap when i let off the throttle its amazing how a tip will make a huge difference in the sound of you vehicle oh yeah headers will make it sound a little better too :)

check out my pics in my " view photo gallery " under my name.

there are pics of my exhaust setup running straight out the back with 2 40 series flowmasters and 2.5" piping. it can be done, but i recommend 2.25" max. i lost some of my low end torque with the larger pipes. mine cost $500.00 total with tax and labor.

KSpride, your exhaust outlets are the exact same as mine except my spare is still under the truck.

looks good.
