take a look at my cardomain site. the shop didnt want to route the piping in between the frame rail and leafs, but after showing them pics of chris' (98fordx24) exhaust job, they werent reluctant at all.
i havent checked out a sport yet, but i wouldnt imagine that much difference.
I work for good ole midas in West Chester PA. we stock all the required piping and everything else needed. Hmm that is a nice run on that outside the frame. i stand corrected.
LiquidX9~ I see you have a manik grille guard. Ive got a ?..... Are your front uprights like this ---\--/--- or ---|--|--- ? Thanks man, Im looking to get a Manik.
Originally posted by TheRookie Uhh, also going to melt your spare man. I do custom exhaust every day at work. that is decent but the spare is a problem. and there is no way you could put the drivers side outside the frame.
I'd like to update you on this, Its been touching the spare on the drivers side for along time now, even a 5 hour trip to Philly, and the spare still has the nubbies on it. No melting, nothing. Freak of nature I guess(or Goodyear Has Goodrubber )
Glad to hear irs doing ok for you. I am suprised it hasnt started melting yet. A guy we fired recently had bent some pipes for a dodge that were within about half an inch of the spare and it melted bad. keep your eyes on it.
I check it quite often. And as soon as it does start to melt, back to the shop it goes to be fixed, and they're paying for a new tire! I am getting a sound from metal hitting metal though. I cannot for the life of me find it!!
Its only rattling when you hit a bump. There is a time when you hit a really hard bump, or a speed bump going to fast, the mounting bracket where the sway bar attaches to the axle on the drivers side hit the drivers side pipe, it only happens once in a blue moon, so thats alrite with me. But theres a slight rattle when going over small bumps that I cannot for the life of me find.
I am over all very disapointed in the work that this shop did, and next time, its going somewhere else. But hey, you live you learn, and hopfully won't get screwed over again. I have found one cure for the rattle, FLOOR IT!!
nice setup! i planned on running mine lke that but i figured i'd do the lift first....and now i have all new plans. i want to do mine like that, but i have since added a FORD OEM class 3 reciever and a body lift. anyone hwo has the OE one knows how wide it is, so i think i will run th pipes between the hitch and the bumper...this will also protect it whle wheeling.....which brings me to my question...what size tips you running? and so you think they will fit (there is about a 3" gap):
They're 2.5 inch tips. Yes, it was/is hitting the shackle. So I hacked one of those little tabs off that were on it. Now it has a good half inch to move before hitting. So I don't think thats it. I've recently replaced the shocks, so maybe one of those are loose or a u-bolt or something from when I swapped my leaf packs.
