I am going to feel like an idiot when someone answers this question. I briefly looked through the manual and did find an answer. What is the button on the dash with the letter "P" on it and little arrows going down away from the P (ex. P>>>)?

Thanks,

Chris

Fog lights? It's in the stereo surround trim to the right of the stereo, bottom button, right?

With the key on, if you push on the button do's anything happen?

The correct answer is it deactivates the rear ultrasonic parking system..
When you back up these button like sensors in the bumper measure the distance to an object and begin to beep more and more the closer you get. The dash button is used to deactivate the system if it gets blinded by snow or rain and continually sounds off. I've only had to use it a few times (wife's windstar) since owing the vehicle and always for snow...

Thats it! I have notice that this has shut itself off a few times while driving? I will look down and the "off" light is illuminated. Not sure why this is happening.

Thanks,

Chris

It's got the park assist on a 99 Sport??? I'm not so sure that was an option then, was it?

A cool way to test the system is to park on level ground, shut off the engine, and put the transmission in "R" (which will activate the system). You can then roll down the windows and walk up to the rear bumper and hear the system beep off faster faster the closer you get.. Kind of neat and has saved us from backing into things since the windstar has some major blind spots when backing up.
