Dumb question

How much does a tranny weigh? I'm just wondering b/c I need to get another transmisssion for my 1992 ford explorer sport. Also I'm getting a used tranny with about 70k on it for $450 from a junk yard with the torque convertor and with a 30 day warrenty. Is that a good price? When I do go get the tranny does anyone know what to look for to make sure this tranny isn't bad? I'm getting someone to install the tranny for $400.
Can anyone tell me if I'm getting a good deal out of it and I'm just want my explorer back on the road. Hopefully soon.

Are you having it shipped to you? or are you paying for it by the pound? need more info.

I'm going to pick it up i just need to know how heavy its going to be. I don't know if I need a cherry picker just to get it in the back of a truck or what. I never lifted a tranny. Can I pick it up by myself?

Is not that heavy, just awkward, maybe 150-175 lbs, two guys can lift it no problem
