2004 Explorer limited with aftermarket DVD player.Has a switch mounted in the dash bezel so that you can tune the radio to 88.7 and play the DVD sound through the speakers.Problem is,my wifes favorite FM channel to listen to is 88.7 FM. No matter what possition you put the switch in,there is no reception on this channel.I have headphones for the DVD and would be satisfied to get DVD audio from headphones only.Any suggestions on how to disconnect this modulator/switch, or whatever it is.Thanks

I don't have a Aftermarket DVD player but i did have a CD changer that hooked up the same way as your DVD player. There was a little box that had a switch on it or a way to change the channel. It also created a splice in the antenna harness so t ht it ran from the Antenna to silver box (DVD interface) to Radio. See if you can take out that spice, which was essentially a silver box with two coxal wires coming out one to plug in the antenna side and the other side to plug into the radio side.

On the rf modulator there should be like 2 or 3 different channels it can be tuned to to pick up the signal. take it to whoever installed it and they should be able to change the station that you broadcast through for the dvd. Or any audio shop can do it if it was in the car when you got it.

more than likely its right behind the radio so if you feel comfortable taking the radio out and making this adjustment go right ahead.
