Dye overhead console?

I was thinking about installing an overhead console into my 98 sport. I have the willow green interior and the overhed consoles are tan and gray (from what I have seen). Could I use willow green dye on the tan/gray (not the black part) plastic on the overhead console? I dont really want to use spray paint type stuff because it doesnt give the same look and durability of dye.

i'v painted both of my OHCs. they where tan and i painted them grey.

i have a few pics of how to take the overhead console apart.

Did you use dye or normal spray paint?
