DYNO numbers, Stock 08 STA

I had the Adrenalin at Pro-Dyno for a base line to see what kind of numbers it was putting down, before it gets the supercharged 5.4 swap. Interesting stuff, although not surprising.

Max was 223 hp / 229 tq on a Dynojet in SAE correction.

Pretty pathetic !!

The most noticeable power killer was that Ford sets this thing up to run at 16:1 air/fuel ratio! Holy cow, that's lean! Most likely just for gas mileage numbers. These things would pickup a ton of power and torque just from a custom tune.

Pro-Dyno had tuned another ST on their dyno and just with a custom flash tune, picked up 40 lb/ft of torque, and similar hp.

These dyno runs are back to back. The second run was with the truck hot, so there was a decent power loss.

Of course that is rear wheel horsepower too. I am sure Ford gives us the motor horsepower which is always more.

Yes there are custom tunes available (I recommend henson). Even with just an 89 tune I am very pleased. it pulls very hard through the mid-range.

Correct- dyno is measuring rear wheel, crank (published) HP is 292 for the V8, so we are at about ~ 20% driveline loss. Nothing too surprising in my opinion.
