Those of you with a disc brake rear end,

Has anyone needed a longer left-side emergency brake cable? I'm referring to the cable going from the wheel to the junction. If you have replaced it, what have you used?

I need a cable that is about 3" longer - not sure if an F-150 cable will fit.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott, I know many people have replaced that particular cable on the explorer with the ranger cable... since you have a ranger, I'm not sure what you'd use...

Scott, I forget what model Ranger you have, but maybe a Supercab cable will be longer, assuming you have a regular cab.

I would use a Ranger cable, but Rangers don't come with rear disc brakes - the drum brake cable won't attach to the actuating lever. :(

Vehicle length shouldn't matter - I need the cable from the brake to the junction. The cable from the junction forward is where the different lengths are accomodated.

I did find out that F-150 cables come in 43", 54", and several longer lengths. Hopefully, one of these will work.

how about one from a sport trac?

That seems to have a long wheel base too..
