e-brake light randomly goes off and on-any ideas?

not a big deal i dont think, just kinda annoying.

my emergency brake light randomly comes on and goes off while driving. no flashing or anything, just will come on for a random amount of time, then go off. Still lights up fine when i actually use the ebrake.
any ideas? anyone else have this problem.

There are two and only two things that can make that light come on: The level float switch in the master cylinder, or the e-brake switch under the dash. It can only be one of the two.

that did it. it was just a little low on broke fluid. problem solved. thanks guys

OMG, I can't believe it!!!

This is exactly my problem that I came here to try and resolve. You guys are the best.

Now....

How do I check the brake fluid, can anyone help? I'm a lowly little female who wants to maintain the car as inexpensively as possible.

On the side of the master cylinder that are markings to let you know if it's full on not. The master cylinder is on the driver's side firewall. Should be a black cap on it and the resevoir itself is a clear type plastic. If it's low make sure you use clean fresh brake fluid...just add it till you get to the full mark. BTW...try not to spill any on the paint..brake fluid and paint don't go well together.
