well, i have the 92 xlt 4x4 and in the front is a dana 35 ttb , and in the rear is a ford 8.8 i have 3.73 gears.

oh yes
in the 8.8 is a stock limited slip
hope this helps

The front was a Dana 35 the rear was a Ford 8.8
Gear ratios were 3.27, 3.55 and 3.73
LS was something that seemed random same with ratio as for what it came in. There may be an extreme case where a 3.08 gear was used and there is no limited slip in the front diffs factory.

in the rear, does any of you know how many splines the shaft has and/or what size the shaft is? thanks for the other info fellas

thanx, im looking into lockers front and rear, do you have any suggestions for installation and/or brands? i appreciate your help!

by the way, what if the rear 8.8 has factory l/s and the locker says its for open diffs on its spec's? can the factory l/s be removed and the locker will still fit? or do i have to buy a whole new open differential?

After going to full carrier lockers I will always preach them over lunch-box lockers (aka Lock-rights).

If you have a lower budget, lock-rights may be better for you.

If the rear is a limited slip, you will either need a new open carrier (note: all Ford 8.8" rears do NOT have carrier breaks) or get a lock-right that is meant to go into a L/S carrier (some exist).

Lunch-box lockers will be easy to install yourself.

Full carriers would require someone familiar with gears or a shop to do it.

Ultimate would be ARB air lockers front and rear!

lockers

There is a posting in the for sale section for an 8.8 trac-loc, fords version of a locker I think.

That's actually what the stock limited slip is called.
