I only lifted the rear maybe 3.5" and the cable is rubbing on the bracket that's on the outside of the frame rail just in front of the driver rear tire at right height. The best option I see was just to cut the bracket to drop the main cable out of it, then re-in forcing the bracket back in.

Is there a better way to extend the ebrake cable for susp travel and lift?

Yeah I just cut the cabl e out and re-welded the bracket back in. Works fine...

I needed a longer e-brake cable for our 1st gen since the amount of flex we were getting was causing the e-brake cable to run out of travel and apply the e-brake..

I grabbed an e-brake cable from a ranger (long bed, extended cab, I think) that had the same "style" cable. It was longer...

I have since cut the cable to tweak the length.. I cut it in the middle and used cable clamps to tie the 2 halves together.. This isn't the proper way but it's worked great for a few years and the cable clamps have never moved...
