ECM/ computer location

Where is it? I want to see if the door unlock code in on there.......manual says it is.

I just bought a 98 EB 5.0 AWD with 93K for $5700 in good to excellent shape? good deal?

If you open the rear jack compartment on the drivers side in the cargo area, look inside and forward with a flashlight. It should be there on a sticker on one of the modules.

go take the jack cover off, in the rear, and there should be a little white computer above the drivers side rear wheel well, the code should be on the box, it is hard to read and it may take you a couple tries to get it right. This if for the XLT model if you have the sport then it is in a different place, but i know this question has been covered before here.

I know what it is like for newbies to come to your forum and ask stupid Q's or Q's that have been asked 1000000 times. I am new to explorers but have built toyotas and an '68 bronco before....but for offrading only.

no question is stupid, say for the one not asked. and i was just saying that the location we gave you would not work if you had a sport, and welcome to the forum just ask any question i am sure that someone out there has run into the same problem before.

He has an Eddie Bauer with a 5.0, it couldn't be a sport.
