Engine Computer Location?!?!?!?

im new to this forum and new to Explorers but i was wondering if the Computer that controls the engine is located int he passengers side kick panel?? any help would be greatly appreciated. i am also wonder if i even need to change it i am putting a 97 4.0L SOHC in a 96 that had a 4.0l OHV. is there any timing differences or computer differences that i would need to change the computer? Again any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

TTT, you need to spend some time doing searches. I would be shocked if you could get away with not changing computers... you will most likely need the harness from the donor along with the computer etc. but as I said, do some searches, you aren't the first guy to do this swap I am guessing.

most of the searches i have done have been for swapping a 4.0 into a 2.9 thats why i was trying to get some information here.
