Sons truck the temp gauge moves up to middle and during idle or driving it just fluctuates all the time, up down, never really passing middle or anything.

upper and lower hoses are hot when at op temp. so figure it's his ECT sending unit. I 'think' I see it right. Where the air box intake connects in the middle of the bay, looks like I can remove that, and some metal cover with 2 screws which I guess is throttle assembly or something since hard cables run up under it. Anyhow its about 5 inches down from that. Looks like it just unscrews I don't see any retainer clips or anything.

is this it? pics might help :-) searched youtube and everywhere just don't see to find a pic or video covering this model. thanks!

Looking straight down from the throttle body, ECT is on the right side on the lower intake manifold with a two pin plug, on the left is the gauge sensor with a single stud coming out of it. You want the gauge sensor.

You can get to it without pulling the throttle body.

also hopefully this is the issue. guess i'll find out soon for $15
