According to the Ford brochure, the main difference was the Mocha lower part of the exterior two-tone paint with the Mocha interior trim, the Eddie Bauer logo on the leather seats, and certain standard features (power equipment group, color-keyed carpeted floor mats, luggage rack, speed control/tilt steering wheel, luxury aluminum wheels, P235/75R15 OWL tires, cloth sport bucket seats) which were only available as part of option packages on the Sport.

The difference was also thousands of dollars.

Thanks man for that reply.

I'm getting my Eddie Bauer Sport on tuesday and I can't wait.

:D

I had someone comment on my Eddie once saying that they are insulated better, mainly for road noise. I have no proof or justification to this though, just something I heard once. :dunno:

I like better insulation, that means my explorer can be louder without my annoying my ears. :D

You have a beautiful explorer,
did it come stock with the limited slip diff?

It did. I only found out about it about 2 years after owning it and really checking in with this forum though "banghead:. Shortly after finding out, it was time for a rebuild, big difference over an open diff. due to worn out pads so I love it, though I'm sure a locker would be even nicer ;).

Were the parts for the rebuild expensive?

If I remember right it set me back about 80 bucks, maybe a little less. It's just a kit with some clutch pads and shims and then you need the friction modifier which is like 6 bucks. I got my stuff at Randy's Ring and Pinion: www.ringpinion.com. If you find that D4 code on your door tuesday and find out you need a L/S rebuild I had a few questions that got answered here: http://explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=234360 If you do some searching you can find some more threads on it.

Thanks for that.

I really can't wait for tuesday, I had one just the same but the manual gearbox toasted and I sold it.

There are surprisigly many explorers here in Iceland.
