EGR delete?

I have a 97 5.0 AWD. I have TMH's and am doing my fuel injectors and a 1" phenolic spacer. I can not get a hold of Pasquale for the longer EGR tube. Will deleting the EGR valve kick off the CEL? What other potential problems could arise from doing this?

...You will get a p0401 code, Hi nox, run terrible..

..I have heard of others trying to delete the EGR but it's been a while..
