Bought a brand new engine from a place in Texas! It come complete with intake, exhaust manifolds... the only things missing are the stuffs mount in front of the engine alternator, AC pump, power steering ect.

The engine is brand new and have never been in a vehicle before! The engine have EGR setup on the motor. My original (in the truck) does not. The EGR have extra vacuum lines coming off the sensor and the EGR it self. I really don't want to remove the intake. Here are the questions: Can I just remove all the EGR stuffs and plug the hole at the exhaust manifold up or Can I use the EGR setup and still pass California emmission???

thanks...

The whole reason behind the EGR system is to burn more effiently. I would suggest trying to make the EGR system work. If not, plug it up. But just know, if you have a leak anywhere - it will fail inspection!

We are going to just remove the EGR and cap off the holes. I just hope it will make it threw California Smog inspection...
