So I have a 2000 ford explorer 4.0 ohv. I'm trying to fix an issue with the upper egr tube that goes into the plenum. Obviously it is leaking, so I took the plenum off, and notice there is two gaskets, a black one, and an o-ring. Now.. when I took them off I forgot what order the gaskets when in.. and I looked all over and can't find online if the o-ring goes first or the other gasket. And also where to get the black gasket. Sorry if this is hard to unserstand.. I have a hard time explaining stuff.

The green, round O-ring goes near the top of the upper EGR tube. There is a groove for it to ride in. This o-ring seals the EGR tube to the plenum where it goes up inside it.

The black one goes underneath the EGR valve. Please note that the EGR valve sealing surfaces are soft metals and should be carefully cleaned before installing your new EGR valve gasket - that's what they call the black one. Those should be available everywhere for low $.

Autozone actually carries all of the gaskets for the OHV. The stores actually stock them...Pre 98 have a slightly different O-ring for the tube to plenum but the EGR valve to pipe thin gasket (3 holes) is on almost every Ford that has an EGR valve from 1990-mid 00s.
