Your egr valve is located between the upper intake plenum and the firewall at the back of the motor. It is round and has on vaccume ine running to the top of it and a metal tube cominh up from the exhaust manifold. Another way to clean it is to put a vaccume tester to it and aply vaccume for a 20 seconds at a time with about 30 seconds between while the engine is idiling This wil help burn any buildup out of their. While the vaccume is aplied the engine will start to run rough and possibly stall dont worry it will be ok. to Also while you are their check the vaccume lines running to the egr valve and make sure their are no leaks.
