electric brake controller help

Ok...well i have a 1991 eddie bauer 4 door 5 speed and im trying to install a "curt venture brake controller" with the instructions that came with it it say
(for 89-91 ford e and f series trucks and vans with anti lock brakes find the cresent shape connector on the steering column) and i for the life of me cannot find this connector any one no where it is... the instructions say i gotta tap into a light green wire on this connector and not to tap into the wire off the brake pedal. why is that? any help will be great.. thanx alot

I don't think you will find it. While the Explorers may be slightly similar to the F series mechanically they are quite different electrically. The instructions say to find that connector for E and F series vehicles, the Ex is neither of those. The e-brake control on mine is tapped off of the brake wire.
