electric door locks

I am interested in a 2003 explorer, but was wondering if the door lock were electric. The reason I ask.... I own a 2002 escape and my door lock broke. Thats when I found out that if the battery were to ever die I would have no way of getting into my truck but to break a window. This is just crazy to me. Please tell me the explorer doesnt have this problem. Also, do they have problems with the door latch breaking if you pull the handle while the door is unlocking.

Huh? Are they telling you that the key lock in an Escape isn't a mechanical connection?

....ps, even if that were true, there are ways in without damaging a window, dude. Sounds like a stealership scare tactic to me. Either way, don't let something like door locks be the only stumpbling block to buying a vehicle.

I don't know about the Escape, but even if the battery is dead in my Explorer the key would open the door.
