I have a 94 Mazda/Explorer, I got this used so I do not know the history. The front turn signal lights do not work but the rear do. They also do not work when the four way's are on but again the rear do. They do work when the running lights are turned on. Bulbs are ok. Also the gas and temp gauge do not work. I replaced them with ones from a junk yard and also put in a new/used board in the dash but still the same. The truck runs rough like it has a choke problem. I replaced the fuel filter and the PCV valve. The anti lock brake light comes on some times and then some times does not. All brakes are new. The check engin light comes on when it is driven over 60 mph for more than a few minutes but goes off when the speed drops down for a time. I suspect more than one problem but I cannot rely on any readings until I know I have the electrial problem sorted. Wireing dirgrams are poor. After the signal wires come off the colom where do they go next and what path do they take. and what color are they. The books are not accurate so please don't quote me from them.
thankyou
Keith

hey Keith,
the anti-locking brake light could be caused by a failty abs sensor. They are located on the hub assembly. Not certain if you can change only the sensor or the hole assembly. For the front turn signal, sound like a bad relay fuse. I hope i help you in away.

My 94 had a similar prob with the CEL at highway speeds. One possibility could be air flow. Did you change the airfilter? If not, do that and while you have it off check for debris in the air filter compartment. The next thing would be MAF sensor. I just had to replace mine about 6 months ago because it totally crapped out and ran rough with thick, black exhaust and rotten mpg.

My Anti-lock brake light was coming on intermittently and that was one of the sensors. It was replaced and stopped for a while. Now it still comes on occasionally, but I attribute that to dirt or something because it will clear after a while.
