Got a few bugs. I installed a K&N FIPK and shortly after a few bugs appeared. Not sure if they are all related or not but I wanted to get some input.

Check engine light is most likely due to K&N correct?

Last few days when driving I've heard an electric whine like I have an RF Modulator or something installed. I hear it when I'm on the gas or accelerating and it dies down when I let off the throttle. When going under tunnels my radio picks up on that whine and really drowns out my radio. Using my 12 volt plug to charge my cell phone also seems to cause a whine.

It's an 02 2wd by the way. Bone stock except for the K&N and my rear sway bar upgrade.

Thanks all!

whine -
leaky plug wires? how's performance/mileage overall,
bad grounding - check ground straps from battery to body and engine.

AM radio picks up whine

Performance does not seen degraded but I'll wiggle some wires tomorrow.

Get the codes, clean the MAF.

Whine could be the alternator. Remove the serpentine belt and start it. Don't run it long, just enough to verify sound is gone.

Could also be the PS pump. I used synthetic ATF to quiet mine. Some have used a little LS Differential friction modifier to quiet that pump.
