electrical issues

I seem to be having some electrical issues on my '94 explorer sport (2 door). the other morning while driving my dome light came on and the door chime alert sounded. I pulled over and check all the doors and they are closed. I shut off the headlights and that stopped the chime as if the light were on after the car was shut off. I still haven't gotten the dome light off. Anyone have any idea's on what the problem maybe?

Unscrew each door switch. and take a look. They work simply. Whne the door is open the switch post pulls out and shorts to the door pillar as ground. These switches are made cheaply and do fall apart causing this problem. Start with the door used the most.. Drivers door.
My front passenger side door switch failed about two months ago. The dome light caught my eye after closing the door.
P.S. they just unscrew out.. the wires twist as you unscrew it.
