1994 Explorer XLT 4x4
I just bought a used 94 exp xlt 4x4. I bought it knowing i would have to roll up my sleeves and get to work on it. $450 bucks and drove it home !!! The 4x4 dash button worked and i heard the clicks, 1 in the back and a clunk underneth ... I was pleased to see that it was going into 4 wheel high. I didn't try 4 wheel low. Also,The tach was working fine. Until..............When i got home I was pulling and checking all the fuses under the dash to make sure all were good. All checked out fine. After that the 4x4 switch stopped working and the tack stopped working. The fuel, temp gauges don't work at all... At 1 point the air conditioning and the blinkers ceased to work but started working again... Obviously a major malfunction in the wiring under the dash somewhere. Gotta finger this out... All else is working well... Tranny, engine works well...... Please help...... Thanks in advance.....

When you were plucking the fuses out you might have worked a source wire loose... find out which fuses run the 4x4 shift module and the blinkers and whatever else is acting up and reseat the fuses and while they are out see if the source pins are still attached to the fuse panel. Thats the first thing I would do.

If all else fails jiggle some wires

just pick one thing that ain't working and start there. more than likely it may be same problem for the rest.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks.. I'm going to get this fixed even if i have to pull the whole blankin dash out.

In the past I have found that the relays in the engine compartment power distribution center go bad (from heat) and can cause quite a few problems. Try jiggling those too. They are also really cheap to replace before you start with the expensive stuff.
