electrical problems

HI guys I don't write a lot around here, but I always check the forum.

I got two problems with my 99 explorer sport.

first my headlights don't work no high beams, no driving lights, they only work when I pull back the switch to flash the high beams, the turn lights work fine.

My other problem is that my reverse lights stop working, they start to flashing and stop working, I have the manual transmission.

so what things should I check??

please help I can't use my truck because I return to my home at night :roll:

There is a reverse light switch mounted on the transmission that usually goes bad for reverse light problem.

Do you have auto lamps? If not then the multifunction switch is primary suspect. If so, did you switch them off?

no I don't have the auto lamps.

You have no low beams either?

no, they only work when I flash the hi beams.

You have 3 fuses in the under dash box: 1-left low beam 10A, 1- right low beam 10A,1- high beam 15A. There is one in the under hood box a 30 A. You have checked all of those?

Do you have parking and tail lights?

Upon looking more closely at the wiring it's leaning towards the headlight switch itself since the fogs are not working either.

The 30A good?

all fuses are good, fogs are not working because I don't have fog lights and my parking and tail lights works normally

this is driving me crazy

As suggested check your light switch... its your likely problem... BUT use a meter or just throw money / and parts at it.
