All the wires come with the mirror and you don't use any wires from the overhead console. I hope you got one with the wires still on it Intrepid. In anycase, you mount the mirror in place of the old one. Run the wires in the headliner and down the drivers beam to the fuse panel. I'll have to check, but I think the black is ground and red is power. Black goes to a ground, I used the dash board bolts and the red goes to a power wire that turns on when the key is in the RUN position. I used the overhead console fuse. If you have the kit all the connectors come with it and it is very easy.
