Electronic 4x4 control...HELP!!!

Presently,my X is about 25 miles out a logging road on a side trail, and I walked half that distance before I hitched a ride back to town.After decending a very steep hill down to a river,I switched back to 2WD and shut the truck off for a couple hours to go swimming.After restarting it,the push button 4WD controls would not work,and with out it,there is no way I'll ever get my truck back out of there.Of course I checked the fuse in the power distribution box,it was a little corroded,but not blown.What else can it be?Please help,I miss my baby !!!

It seems that, most commonly, it's a dirty shift motor. Check out www.glue.umd.edu/~singletn/exp.html You can pull the motor off and shift the transfer case by hand if you don't want to do the work out on the trail.
