- 99 Mercury Mountaineer
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to read this thread.
I have a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer with Electronic Automatic Climate Control.
Tuesday I had the MAX A/C on and I noticed I could not adjust the fan speed (High/Low)...it was stuck on High. I thought it could possibly be the adjustment switch so I figured I would replace the switch. Later I noticed another problem... when I tried to turn the unit off the display and all the button lights would go out but the system fan would continue to run and it would not shut off until I turned the ignition off. All the buttons work Vent-Floor-Def- etc The display works and shows all the correct information. I can change the temperature selection. Everything functions as it should I just can not control the High/Low fan speed and I can not shut the unit completely off. The display shuts down as it should and all the illuminations shut down as it should too. It keeps blowing air at the "High" speed fan setting to an unknown area.
I pulled the unit to see if I had a wiring harness that worked loose but everything appeared o.k.
Could you tell me what the problem may be?
Any information will be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
Rick
