My emergency brake requires that I completely push the pedal all the way down to get "adequate" hold....note that I used that word and not "great." Can this be adjusted anyway so that it works better? Its kind of scary on hills. Do I have to replace the pads in the rear. The other day I noticed that the rear pads were not touching the rotor...yet the brake was engaged....how does our parking brake work? thanks, Bob

On our discs all round models the parking brake has it's own set of shoes and drums inside the rear discs. They are adjustable. Raise the rear and look at the back of the hub at the bottom you'll find an oblong rubber plug. Behind that is a wheel adjuster that you can move with a screw driver (can't remember which way tightens/loosens). Tighten them right up so that the wheel doesn't turn then back off eight clicks. The drum pads can be replaced by removing the disc. Hope this helps.
