-Emergency- drive shaft dropped out on freeway.

Even if your drive shaft is still intact you might want to get it replaced. Even though the drive shaft might not appear broken on the outside there might be some small cracks that you cannot see. The way a drive shaft is made is it has a very hard but brittle alloy on the outside with a softer and more ductile alloy on the inside. Now this outside was more than likely damaged while being bounced against the highway. Drive shafts are in no way designed to be bounced against the pavement. If you want your explorer fixed then you should go and buy yourself a new drive shaft. Otherwise you could be driving a long or doing some offroading and your shaft could just snap.
