Hello guys, I just had a quick question that I wasn't able to find an answer to, probably because I don't know exactly what I am asking!

So I have a 1998 Ford Explorer Sport 4x4 V6 OHV, would I be able to tow a disabled vehicle off the road into a parking lot maybe 100 feet away with a tow strap? Would I be able to pull vehicles out of snow the same way? I just want this for my own knowledge. At the moment I am not certain on the rear gear ratio. The only mod so far are 30 x 9.5 tires.

No different than the guys rescuing each other on trails with towstraps, and probably easier, especially pulling them into parking lots. The recoveries will be a little challenging, but my buddy spent all winter one year pulling people out with his Explorer.

You should definitely be fine, I recently towed a 92 dodge dakota about 1000 feet and my explorer didn't even hesitate.
