engine fan

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but my
91 explorer made a bang sound when I was on the hiway. i pullled over and found that the plastic engine fan had broke 2 blades off and put a hole in my radiator. I was wondering if there is a better aftermarket setup for a fan, than the plastic factory version?

Nope, you need to get a new fan from ford. They are the only place to get one. Napa may order one for you but Ford will have them in stock. About $35. Supposedly they are made better and wont crack. you could mess around with a different fan and try to adapt it but is it worth the trouble..
