Whenever the temperature goes above 80 degrees, after I've been driving around for an hour or so, the engine will start to sputter and eventually die. sometimes, shifting into neutral and shutting the car off and restarting it while going down the road works. there is always a strong fuel odor when this happens. i have replaced the fuel filter so its not an issue there. is there anything i can do?
oh, i have the 4.3L inline 6 automatic

4.3 inline 6???

Sorry, nobody here has the 4.3 I-6 :)

I assume you have the 4.0L V-6 which all 91-94 Explorers come with.

Check your fuel pressure. Your fuel pump is likely shot and is conking out once it gets hot enough.
