Engine is weird when i turn it on/ turn it off

Sometimes when I turn the engine off, it wont go off it will struggle to stay on. Finally it will go off after awhile. When i come back to start the car, and i crank it, it will start really quick, like realy really quick. not barely have to crank at all. its weird.

Haynes manual lists continuing to run after switched off (dieseling) as caused by a naumber of things, most notably:

vacuum leak
carbon build up in combustion chamber
egr system not working properly

Sounds like your engine is dieseling. Your fuel mixture may be too rich. It might be your mass air sensor. start easy, and clean it. do a search for how to clean it. there are many posts on cleaning the mass air sensor. If this doesn't work, it may be a fuel pump problem. (Too much pump). start easy, and work your way up.

well i have a new maf.
-new fuel filter
-just cleaned the throttle body intake with cleaner (did it before that anyway)
-i wouldnt know how to start lookingfor a vacuum leak, i dont hear any weird noises?
-what the whole ERG system thing-- i think i ran a code for that.

man, mine is doing the same thing. I'm having mine looked at pretty soon. There's is also something wrong with my EEC Test so maybe those 2 can be linked together somehow. DO you hear a high pitched noise and then some clicking whenever you turn your X off?

Ok i just read your other post. Hit your eec test thing behind the fuse box. It's not the fuse box that's doing it. It's the thing behind it. Mine does it when i shut doors and close the hood also. We're in the same boat. Be sure you tell me if you head to the mechanic before I do.

yeah it does that high pitch noise, and the click when i turn the car off, mostly high pitch noise. it will do it if i hit the fender that its mounted too too.

I think I'm about to go get mine checked out but if you get yours checked out first please let me know. I don't know what kind of harm it's doing.
