Engine oil temperature?

I did a search but couldn't find what the normal engine oil temperature should be? Anyone know?

At normal operating temperature your engine oil will be around the 225-250 degree range (or higher in some engines). It depends on outside temp and driving scenarion (city/highway). Your engine oil serves 3 purposes. Lubricating, pulling heat away from internal components as the cooling system only cools the outer extremities of the engine and suspending contaminates to be flushed out at the next oil change. Use of a quality synthetic oil can reduce internal temps an average of 20-50 degrees.
