Engine Paint

If you paint the plastic peices of the motor with the high temp engine paint, is it safe to use clear coat on it or not?

If you have hi-temp clear, yes. If it's regular clear, no, it will defeat the purpose. My buddy did that on a Mustang, and all of the clear started to come off- looked like chit.
