Well this problem is a weird one. When i shut my truck off some times(92 explorer) it likes to continue to run after the key is off. and some times it doesnt. I have checked all the vacum lines and there all intact. The fuel regulator is new. Now the one thing i did notice is while its Sputtering if i disconnect the ground to the vehicle it stops instantly. This is driving me nuts, been in the shop numerous times and they can't find the problem. Engine isn't giving any problem codes.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know if this is related at all, but it might help...

I have a late model John Deere two cycle snowmobile, and after running for a few hours, it would continue to run for a moment after turning it off. It could idle like the ignition was still on, even with the spark plug wires on. Someone told me that carbon can build up, and get hot enough to actually burn and keep the engine running.

Two cycles do indeed make a lot more smoke, but it might be s similar problem. But there are more qualified people to tell you this.

My bad! I meant to say that the engine would stay running with the spark plug wires OFF.
