Hey guys! Ive had my 2010 4L v6 for too long now and was wondering if it was possible to swap a bigger engine into the truck? (i dont worry much about the price) also...... where would be a good place to find a lift kit for it?

Only lift kit available is the TRUXXX spacers (2"), and you can get Rancho Quicklifts as well (see the Modified 2006+ Explorers section), but they are really more of just a shock upgrade than a lift.

Stylin99 has a 5.0L Coyote going into his ST. He tried a 5.4L v8, but that didn't seem to work out well. I'm sure he could help out more than I in that area. Check out the Ford Racing parts site for crate engines.

thanks for the answers!

I can't help you with the engine questions as I have a 4.6 V8. I've owned both the V6 and V8 now, and I much prefer the V8.
I've got a Truxx lift on mine and it works well. I may upgrade to the Rancho shocks sometime later this year. Right now I'm working with my welder on a front pushbar/bumper/winch combo.
I'll post some pictures when I can.

On one hand it is possible to put in a V8 since it was a factory option. On the other hand modern vehicles are complicated and the electronics are the hard part. It ain't like dropping a big-block into a '68 Camaro. Also V8 and V6 Gen 2 Tracs use different transmissions, so you would have to buy that as well.
Best way would be to find a wrecked V8 Trac and swap everything over.
Selling or trading your V6 on a V8 model would cost less and for sure be a lot less work.

ecoboost

seems like people have been going bigger with their engines, how about a 3.5L ecoboost in a sport trac??? try something different you know?

and then do guys know any good engine tuners for a 4L v6 ????

Shifter

Anyone know any good looking custom shifters too?

Where can I find a Truxx lift kit for a good deal. Do we have any vendors here?

Yeah! Ford should still be making Rangers & Sport Tracs with the 3.5L Eco motor! The 3.5L Eco will be an appealing swap into a lot of stuff in a few years when they become more available in the salvage yards.

YEAHHH!!! I mean sure you can go with a bigger engine right? nothing wrong with that...... so how about something different right??? go to a more efficient engine, I think it would be a good swap provided that we have the transmission and maybe rear diff

Pero se modifico al fin una Explorer con un coyote? Quiero saber por qué estoy con la misma idea. Gracias

Stylin did it seems, but I havent heard of any others with Coyotes. His was newer though, so not sure if that has any effect.
