Hi There fellow explorer owners. I have a question though. According to my dashboard gauge, my trucks temperature seems to be always low. Its only on the 1/4 mark. It gets way too long to warm up as well. And when Im moving, like when im on a highway, the temperature would begin to fall down to almost like 0. Though when i leave the vehicle idling for like 15mins, the temperature would hit the middle mark. and stay there.. but when i start moving again, the temperature will start to drop again.

Sounds like your thermostat is stuck open, not allowing the engine to warm up to operating temp.

T-Stat or bad sending unit.

I vote thermostat also, the sending unit should be fine since it is reporting different readings (probably accurate ones)
- check coolant level, that may be low also.

My '04 would warm up then drop while on the highwat. Heater output sucked. Changed the stat and can now cook eggs on the defroster vent!
