Greetings. Sometimes my truck seems to behave as though it may be getting bad data as far as the engine temperature is concerned. I have a '96 with the OHV 4l engine. Obviously there is the engine coolant temperature sensor for the temperature guage. Something controls the electric fan on & off - is this the same sensor? The temperature data is used by the transmission I believe as well.
My question is this- how many temperature sensors are there, and where are they located? I am not sure if anyone can answer this or not, but if you can, I would appreciate it.
