Hello i have problems in with my Ford Explorer 1995 XLT.
On the instrument board in the car the temperature is not mowing at all . I have been changing termostat and the engine coolant temperature sensor but nothing happens.
Any idea what to look after. Is there a single connection behind the dasboard ore is it like a "computer" contact.

I had the same problem. My temp gauge was pegged all the way as low as it could go. It was not due to a loose connection though. It was a problem with the gauge itself and the only way I could fix it was to replace the left side of the gauge cluster. Yes, there are three wiring cables that slide into the back of the cluster. The temp gauge gets signal from one of them.

I had the same problem and the dealer said it was a faulty sending unit. They replaced it and the gauge does move now, although it hardly moves above the C. The dealer had my car plugged into the computer and said the engine didn't get above 164*, so they think somebody changed the thermostat. I guess I will have to replace it with the correct temp and then see if my gauge reads correctly.
