I have replaced my IAC about 50k or so ago. I'm starting to have symptoms again, but these are unlike the ones that I had the first time and I'm not total sure if it is the IAC or not.
The first time I had IAC problems, the only thing it did is: You would be driving along on a hot day and stop in to run an errand, you would be in the store for 5-10 mins, come out and the truck would start but then die. You could keep it running if you had you foot on the gas. Also, to remedy this problem, you would just smack the IAC with a screw driver.
The symptoms I am having now are: When you start the truck it runs fine, as far as I can tell. When you put it in gear and start to roll it some times wants to die. It only does this when the temp outside is 45 or below or 80 and above, so far. It has died a few times, but I just start it up again and it runs. When it does die, it only dies at low RPM when you are just starting to roll. It also some time runs a little ruff at idol at a light, but only when it has not been running for very long. I haven't really had a chance to smack the IAC with a screw driver due to it's basically running anyway.
My main question is does this sound like an IAC problem?
Also, I was wanting to buy a code reader, but don't know if my 95 Explorer Sport is OBDII or not. Please, advise.
