Hi everyone,
A while back ago, I posted the same question about a vibration from my 1998 XLT 4X4. I had said that the mirrors would vibrate, while idling, and the second I hit the accelerator it stops. I've also noticed a noise with it that sounds like mettalic vibrating and rubbing against more mettalic pieces. Needles to say I got an attractive response from Mountaineerman, he has a 1999 Mountaineer with the same problem and was able to solve it by installing a "Y" brace between the transmission bellhousing and the exhaust according to him. I honestly don't know where the brace goes. I know it goes between the bellhousing and exhaust but I just need a bit more help in locating the position of the brace. Mountianeerman has been very helpful in helping me find the problem now I just need to find out how to cure it, I have the parts. This is the only thing wrong with my car at the moment and if I solve this with your help I'll be a happier camper.

Thanks So much

Ricardo
