That reminds me. In warm weather last year my 94 was having starting problems and it turned out to be the Fuel Pump Relay. Was completely fine in cold.

sounds like a nice reliable vehicle lol... good thing its not a dd

Actually my 94 is my DD :D It breaks i just start driving something else

i was talking about mine not being my dd but you know whatever works. im having more trouble with replacing the brake lines now  the brake splitter with the abs thing is stripped out from the previous owner i think so i gotta go gert a new one from the junk yard. Another thing is that i dont know if im making my flares on the tubing right. some are buble flares and some are double flares?

Brake lines should always be double flares.

what about on the splitter andabs unit... those werent double falres.

hey thats not funny....... i remember yours was quite a trouble maker too.... LOL

yeah.. well i figured out the bubble flares and bent all my lines... now all i gotta do is get a buddy out here to help me bleed em and were in buissness.

Hey Fellas, I could really use some help here.

I just bought this XLT almost a week ago. At first the only problem was the tension pulley. After bringing it home and driving around for a few days, it starts getting harder to start. I waited to get paid from a job and was about to replace the starter and that day it **** the bed. I towed it home. Got the starter and put it in. Nothing. It's doing the same thing. I can hear the engine turning but it won't crank. Any suggestions?

well f the engine is turning then it is cranking
I would sugjest trying to jump start it with the tentioner being bad the altinator is probobly not charging

See

Me and my buddies were trying to figure out if there was a difference.

When you turn the key, you can hear the engine, inside the block moving, but the belt doesn't move at all.

Maybe we had it backwards. It's cranking but not turning over?

Maybe we should start there. When I turn the key the engine cranks but doesn't turn over.

Here's what I've done so far
.

I replaced the starter and the connector to the solenoid. The neg connector was broken and hanging off so I cleaned and grounded it.

The battery was killed from trying to crank the engine all day yesterday so had it recharged and all the accessories are up and good. (lights, radio, dome light , ect).

I could really use the help to get this fixed though. The only thing I can offer is my help right back if someone else needs it and trust me I do it whenever I can brother.

...When you turn the key to the on position, do you hear the fuel pump whir???

The last message was for you too

but we tried jump starting yesterday when the battery was fine.

The alternator was fine before this, even when the problem started up the battery was always holding a charge.

I went to autozone a couple days before it stalled out and had them read me the codes for the check engine light and this is what they said (I don't know what they mean or if they apply to what's wrong but I figured I'd put it in).

I had 3 codes come up.

1) EGR system fault (exhaust gas recirculation). The receipt explanation was that "the EMC has detected too little flow on the EGR system.

2)Fuel trim bank one condition. Their explanation was "the powertrain control module uses the oxygen sensor to calculate the air/fuel ratio of the engine. The computer has recognized a rich or lean condition on one engine bank only.

3)Fuel Trim bank two condition. Explanation: The ECM has detected a rich or lean air/fuel ratio condition on engine bank two.

These codes came up while the truck was still starting but was already giving me a problem.

...I would suggest doing a search for "CPS" or "Crank Position Sensor"...I think it may be your problem...
